Every child deserves to feel valued—especially those facing one of the hardest transitions of their lives: leaving their home.
For many children, entering foster care marks one of the hardest chapters of their lives—a moment that can shape their sense of security and belonging for years to come. During such a vulnerable time, no child should ever have to carry their belongings in a garbage bag. The message that sends—that they are not valued—is absolutely heartbreaking.
Our mission this holiday season, and beyond, is to provide suitcases to children in the foster care system—offering them a sense of ownership, stability, and care as they step into their next chapter.
Together, we can give every child something of their own to hold onto in a moment when so much is being taken away.
Our hope is to collect 1,000 suitcases. With more than 5,000 children in the foster system in Minnesota, we know this won’t fill the entire need—but it would be an incredible start. And it brings us one step closer to our dream: that someday, every child who enters the system receives a Case of Love to help carry them through their difficult journey.

Who we are
Cases of Love was created by two Twin Cities moms and began with a simple truth: every child deserves to feel valued. When we learned how many foster children move between homes without a proper bag for their belongings, we felt called to take action.
Cases of Love brings our community together to provide new suitcases — and moments of kindness — to children in Hennepin County.
Give a suitcase
You can HELP!
Bring a new, unused suitcase to one of our drop-off sites during the designated dates, where we’ll welcome you with hot chocolate, treats, and plenty of holiday cheer.
If you have kids, invite them to be part of the experience by choosing a suitcase themselves! Any size or color is perfect — we simply ask that it has wheels to make it easier for a child to bring with them from place to place.
Together, we’ll fill a truck with donations that will be delivered directly to Hennepin County in time for Christmas.
We’ll also have holiday stationery available for anyone who’d like to include a heartfelt note of encouragement inside their suitcase — a message a child might hold onto for years to come.
